Old Ruts v Chipstead

The game started evenly although after around 5 minutes our hard work began to pay off and Mason shot down the line to slot the first of 3 tries for the first half to there 1. Masons running and in particular one try showed true class.

Performance was excelent but discipline slipped losing our shape and defesnive line meaning there were some players doing the majority of the work and some on the fringes leaving the wings open for old ruts to exploit. The extra running caused a lot of palyersv to tire and was the reason why we drew again we should have won. This isnt bad we just need to be mindful.

The opposition were very well drilled on scrums and now we have numbers we will practice them, being a recetly retired second row i can help and we will have support from one of the other senior first team club coaches.

There was, as is the normal for our team a lot of hard work and the result saw us through to the final of the cup - so a great result and well done !

Tife hardly saw the ball and played mainly defensively making many, many hits. Nate has greatly impressed with his energy and truly showing what personal deeication can do to a game making him a very mobile forward indeed. Oli probaly doesnt get the plaudits he deserves as again he must have made over 50 tackles trying to cover all areas of the pitch.

Everyone worked hard and the newer players are improving makiing good contributions. But, my man of the match based on some very good kicking, a nuisance at the scrum and absolutely relentless tackling (he must have been up there with Oli) is Alfie
