Suffice to say this was not one of Chipstead (U13) Exiles’ finest displays on the road. Across two matches both teams were comprehensively out played. Full credit to Colm and the coaches and congratulations to the London Irish players for an excellent display of disciplined, controlled rugby. Chipstead can have no complaints with the results.
There is a saying that came to mind when watching the Exiles’ today. "If you really want to do something, you'll find a way; if you don't, you'll find an excuse." Too many Exiles were focused on finding excuses rather than finding a way to succeed. But there are no secrets to success. Success comes from preparation, hard work, and learning from days such as this.
Sometimes it takes the bitter taste of losing to act as the catalyst for improvement. And improvement starts on the training field.
So see you all next Sunday, 09:45 at the Meads
