Bonus Point at Last

Chipstead maintained a 100% win rate but made hard work of what should have been a much more convincing win.
50 Secs in a Ryan Dupe crossed the line after giving Emmanual a wake up call.
To be honest nothing of note happened for the next 39 minutes. Emmanual looked the better side and took advantage of some ill discipline and kicked penalty after penalty.
It was Clear that Chipstead have suffered from the lack of game time in the past 4 weeks.
In the last seconds of the game Chipstead suddenly became the side we know and after a punishing 2 minute spell of attack phase after attack phase Alex Cannon crashed over the line with a least 3 Old Emmanual Players clinging to him for the ride.

After some salient words from Coach Andy Wright Chipstaed came out a much more controlled side in the knowledge that they could be on the winning side.
With a show of strength in a counter driving maul over 20 meters Old Emmanual were forced to turn the maul and found young Darren Lilly stealing the ball and then came the attacking driving maul that saw Alex Cannon in for his second try. Apparently he tripped over later in the game to avoid his hat trick AND A JUG.
That one move in it self showed what a powerful pack Chipstead have when the belief is there.

Miles Vallance was a much unused attach force for Chipstead possibly caused by the quickness of Old Emmanual backs on the attack that caused some panic kicking in Chipstead's 10-12 channel. He came into play on two occasions making a 20 m break and being on the end of a blistful handling move between 7 players to score.

This match gives Chipstead's its first try bouns point of the season which could be cruicial going into 2013.
Unfortunalty it sees the end of Richard Trepant(Frenchy) time at Chipstead. He is moving to Cobham in 2013 with the blessing of players and management alike. He has been an inspiration to the 1stxv this season and we wish him all the best fortune for his carerer.

Just as Frenchy leaves to pastures new today saw the introduction of two new players into the senior set up.
Kylie Smith and Micheal 'Boris' Johnson. Both Chipstead born players and just turned 18. Both had great games and one will be remembered for being the youngest player to be carded on the same game at the clubs oldest player.

Chipstead lead in Surrey 2 continues and with the removal of CL London from the league some readjustment of the bounus points system may be cruicial.

Chipstead travels to Pulborough next Sat for a much needed no pressure friendly.
Coach travel being arranged but numbers limited.
