Chipstead arrange last minute game amongst themselves

It seems like everybody is scared to play chipstead after last years exploits with both Saturday and Sunday opponents for our Club XV and under 21s crying off last minute. Least Old Walcountians informed the coaches of the 21's that they did not have a squad available whereas our near neighbours Old Reigatians just didn't bother turning up or let anyone know. Luckily we are a resilient bunch and had 41 players that were looking for a game. So Coach Bushy and Captain Cannon arranged the 1's,2's,21's & 18's into 2 squads and we played each other with 4 x 20 minutes.

You may ask where Wrighty was well apparently he needed to get stuff ready for his wedding in a couple of weeks time, I know what your al thinking he should be lynched he has all summer to have the wedding but chose in season. Fines will obviously be coming his way.

any way back to the days events it was lovely to see new faces and ones that have progressed through the mini & juniors from Billy Fowler, Calum Kingsley-smith, Gez (stevie) Matthews, Joe wood, Tom Hawgood & Ross Crabtree all showing good accounts for themselves. Even if there drinking skills could be improved but just don't ask Walshy for tips.

The team captains were Alex 'bigface' cannon whom captained the team in chipstead hoops and were obviously called the bigfaces and then the Postmen were in white captained by Postman Pat Kisz himself.
The score was not important it was blow out the cobwebs for all those who did not make it on tour and to work on our patterns that we have been working through on Thursdays. Some people got hat-tricks some did not, some scored others merely created the chances and others just walked around moaning about a poorly mouth and thus god provided him with a loss of sight by the end of the game.

Good day had by all especially the bar jugs whom have been derelict behind the bar since May but were used in abundance when the club was locked up and the stragglers ended up getting taxis home or to the second home of our young squad 'Elements' where some lost there virginity and others did not, and one who never will.

P.S no virginity was lot in the club but it was their first appearance there.

Rugby was the winner, especially Chipstead Rugby. So on to next Saturday with another club game at home kickoff 2.30 and I have been 100% promised by 3 members of Old Emanuels they will turn up ready for a game.
See you at #FortressMeads
