Cup Semi-Finalists @ Brighton 7's

With the previous years pedigree the Chipstead Chiefs were the seeded team in Pool 3 along with the Brighton Outcasts, Los Pelicanos Hermanos and the Bromley Bandits.
First up the Outcasts and the Chiefs were out the blocks well out scoring the opposition 4 tries to 2 with the pick of the bunch a brilliant solo effort by Kearin and his first senior try caught on the video drone (can be seen on Facebook @brighton rugby club) many more to come I hope.
Second match was a closer encounter against the Hermanos which the Chiefs ran out 5 tries to 4 winners - although the successful convertions meant there was always a gap.
Unfortunatley that was when the rains came and the zip and jest of the young squad were put under pressure but came flying through the final pool game against the Bandits in a totally one sided match.

This saw the Chiefs go one better than last year and make the Cup Semi-Final - a step up from last years Plate success. Unfortunatley the none-drinking ban imposed by Coach Mackay and the long lunch break meant the Chiefs did not seem quite at the races and went down 3 tries to 1 and finsihed 3rd overall.

The day was completed by compulsory games of 'Marco - Polo' and '30 seconds of Pain' (Jon's ankle was still playing up !) before an evening on the sea front strolling along the promenade and quaffing cocktails.

Good time had by all.

Brighton will be celebrating their 150th anniversary next year and will be looking to make it the best event in its history so the Chiefs will be back !
