14 1/2 beat an improving stags team

In a last second game set up by arron after we didn't have enough numbers to travel to battersea, the stags of South godstone run by club captain Rob Hegarty and a couple of ex Chipstead players had their last league game postponed so we stepped in but could only muster 10 players which was enough as they would supplement us. On the morning of the game Mac postponed lying in bed all day and then when things were looking up Captain for the Day Arron Phelps-Gardiner took a leaf out of Matt Stauntons book and tried to cry off, the banter from elder statesman Chey Dupe forced Arron to plead to his ball and chain to let him play on his kid free weekend. So we arrived at the picturesque stadium of the Sg Stags cut into the Surrey Hills with just about enough numbers when loads of players came out the woodwork. By the time Coach had dismounted his pedal bike and shown off his less than impressive bulge in his figure higging Lycra we had somehow managed to hit 15 players.

1. Chey Dupe
2. Boz
3. Ryan Dupe
4. Gerard Matthews
5. Luke Truelove
6. Saffa Jon
7. Harry Mac
8. Ross Crabtree
9. Jon Hill
10. Ian Hill
11. Stella Roy Flack
12. Saffa Sean
13. Luke Davies
14. Arron Phelps-Gardiner
15. Piers Robinson

So as you can see apart from the front row nobody had really played together let alone in those positions. Stella Roy dusting of those boots and welcoming back Ross Crabtree from international duty in United States with the Lambs. the Hill brothers came out of retirement and the ages of 21 & 24 respectively. plus our two new superstar kids let out of our world renowned CHIPSTEAD Academy Piers Robinson and Luke Davies.
To the game and many tries were scored as well as butchered as our players rebelled against playing patterns and just played heads up rugby.
Gez showing everyone that Tom Colyer has competition for Mr. angry .
Luke Truelove still not sure what to do at a kickoff
Roy trying to avoid the try line like the plague
Saffa Jon lasting all of 1 minute so we played the whole game with 14.
Jon Hill playing bouncy ball at scrum time
Ian Hill still wearing his rugby league gear
Arron with his rascal shorts
Credit must be given to the stags who are 4 leagues below are 2s and stuck at it right to the end it was only great defence by chips that stopped them from gaining any points.
Beer was drunk and BBQ eaten with MOM going to StellaRoy although Luke and piers did play exceptionally well, experience just told.
DoD was unanimously Arron after organising the game then trying to bail out in the morning of it to go shopping.
special Mentions to Simon Martin as he and Andrea were decorating although I'm pretty sure they were practicing a breakdancing routine for the May Ball. skills who told everyone he was working even though he kept everybody updated on Facebook he was walking the O2 as it was his birthday.

Last game next week come along and bask in the sunshine as fortressmeads bring your boots just in case.
