A lovely squad result. Four tries, six front row players and a squad of 22. Two match reports!

Firstly, thank you to Trumps for stepping into the 10 position. Secondly, I am sure I saw the front three involved in the try of the day? Running up a tight channel, knocking down the oppo, passing out of contact, communicating, supporting and playing outstanding rugby! The first try was a lovely pick up and juggle from Stewart who went in unappossed. The third from Sean on the other wing nipping down the blind side from a lovely pop pass from Alex J. The fourth was much deserved from Trumps up the middle.

Now having read the previous match reports I still cannot resist asking the players

Did you as an individual play your best?
Did we as a team play our best?
Did we give away too many penalties?
Did we retain the ball well enough in the contact area?

Finally do you like that winning feeling?

Well done to all who played their part.

Thank you to Freemens for fulfilling the fixture. I know you struggled to find a team. It is much appreciated and we are aware how difficult it can be.

Connie and Emma we wish Louis well and look forward to seeing him and you all soon. FTL.!

Annette and Jerry. On behalf of the 2's a huge thank you for all your efforts and great cuisine.

Another grey day at the meads but the rugby was not grey. Chipstead with a full squad were playing Freemans who a just about got 15 on the pitch. The game started very competitively with both teams pressurising the try line but the break came though when Stewart Flack managed  to retain a juggling ball to sprint over the try line, not sure about the Wayne Rooney show boating but it was an opportunity taken well. Chipstead were giving away some silly penalties which allowed Freemans back into the game. The second score came from a really well worked team try which ended with Forest going over the line to make the score 10-0. Half time came and coach Barney made changes Johnny Keegan came into the front row and then took a team yellow card for 10 minutes. The third score came  from a blind side move with Alex Jelly peeling of the back of a scrum committing the defender beautifully and passing to Billy Wiz Sean who sprinted 40 yards over the try line. Trumper got the conversion to make it 17-0. With both teams down to 14 Freemans pressed hard and their hooker went over the line down in hells corner to make it 17-5.With Johnny back on the pitch the team was back to full strength and the very impressive and solid Trumper broke through the Freemans defence to get the final score. 22-5.
Captain Connie could not be there due to son Louis having an emergency appendix but he would have been proud of the performance.
A very big thank you to Annette Keegan and her comy chef Jerry for feeding all the lads at the home games this season it is very much appreciated.
