Chipstead haven't played Freemens in a couple of years with both teams either being promoted or relegated and just missing each other. The old boys won Surrey 2 last year while Chipstead narrowly avoided relegation from Surrey 1 so ours of missed each other again.
To the game and with over 30 senior players missing mainly backs, it was going to be a hard fought game add in the fact the newly promoted team had played 3 and won 3 and scored around 50 points in each of those it was an up hill battle but Chipstead wanted to give it a good shot and lay down a marker.
With first team debuts for 3 players and 1 player returning from uni to play his first game of the season so it would be a bit untried.
Chipstead had them on the back foot from scrum time for the majority of the game but despite some pressure in either half the score board was not touched on the Chipstead side. Old Freemens had a big centre and rapid wingers and every Chipstead mistake was capitalised on. Freemens wasted no time in getting the 4 try bonus point. So a weeks break And then back to winning ways we hope against Old Whitgiftians in the Croydon Postcode Deby game away with a 1 o'clock kickoff.
17th October sees the 3xv play their first game of the season against Sutton and Epsom 4s away with a 2 o'clock kickoff.
