Having drunk for 26 hours and going on an 45 minute bus journey (don't worry the locals loved us including the bus driver who went on diversion to drop us outside the rugby club), we arrived with 30 minutes till kick off and positions still not sorted, so the Tour Captain came up with a totally fair and just way of selecting positions. He closed his eyes and a player at a turn put their hand up for the TC to call a number relating to the position they would be playing. Only one person through a strop funnily Matt the Match day Captain decided he wasn't man enough to play prop or hooker so we shuffled that so he could go back to 9. Possibly would have won the game if he learnt to pass off both hands and didn't do a triple pirouette off every lineout.
Good physical presence by Ryan Dupe, James Mann and surprisingly Boris who sat down a couple of players. Bournemouth didn't quite get the memo about it being a Chipstead rabble team and their 2nd XV with a couple of 1st XV and 3rd XV thrown in for good luck with there first team being relegated from National 2 South last year.
We played very well considering they were an actual team and we were a mismatch of players from our seniors to stay close throughout the game and only lose by a score. Man of the match was hands down Nathan Wood-Thatcher who stopped at least 8 certain tries with last minute 1-on-1 tackles but as Kyle Kingsley-Smith put it we just wanted him to do something. Matt Staunton, Chey Dupe & Henry Colyer butchered chances aplenty but it was a great day factoring in the presence of our pitch side entertainer Ed Bush and our keen physio/coach Wrighty was there in a flash.
Good court session held afterwards outside where we saw 2 big tackles both on one particular person. HHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH.
